Think again....My mother is currently in ICU fighting for her life because of COVID -19. She developed a pulmonary embolism as a result of contracting the virus. Prior to getting COVID-19, my mother was in excellent health. Evidently, one or more of her aides introduced the virus to her.
The point of me writing this post is not to evoke sympathy for me or my mother, but to let everyone know that this pandemic could just as easily impact your family. Take this virus seriously. (edited)
Very sorry to hear about your mother. I agree it is so important to be safe. Masks are actually much better at preventing an individual from making others sick than keeping that individual from getting sick. Wear your damn masks and you won't pass this to others. It's really that simple (edited)

God, I'm so sorry....she and you and your whole family are in my thoughts. I do take this seriously, not seen my parents for weeks because of it, I'm healthy....(as far as I know) but do go to work and to the grocery...soooo, yeah. I hope she makes a full recovery. People NEED to remember that you can have this and have NO symptoms at all the entire time you have it, but you can be spreading it, STAY HOME! Even if your state is foolish enough to open up too early!

Hope she recovers fast, I believe so, healthy people have good chances! The good is that you know who she got it from and don't have to suspect anyone close to her.

I feel so sorry for you and your family I hope your mother pulls through!
And she will if the hospital knows what they’re doing!
In the beginning stages the hospital put ventilators Way too high as well as other medical mistakes which killed people off the bat,

I am pleased to report that mom is doing much better. The night my mom was brought into the hospital, a resident ICU doctor administered a very strong clot buster drug called TPA. She responded very well to the drug and it brought her back from her death bed. They are now treating her COVID-19 with Rendesavir, a drug that shows promise to shorten the effects of the virus. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, I can't visit her because they do not allow anyone in the hospital other than the patient. The only time a family member can visit a patient is when death is imminent and you have to be in full hazmat gear. It's pretty much standard policy now due to the virus.
Thanks again everyone! I'll keep you posted on her progress.

I’m so glad to hear she’s improving, Larry. I haven’t heard of TPA, I’m going to have to research that. I’m so glad to hear medicine has improved over the last 15 years, and they have something better than Heparin to break the clots up now. Sounds like TPA saved her life! They may put her on blood thinners from now on. Avoid Coumadin/Warfarin.
