Re: Will the economy collapse?

Put 11% of your gross check into a 401K plan and ROOT for the stock market. OR find a skill and make yourself needed so you can charge a liveable wage.

Socialist countries are basically poor with little freedom. You wanna give the freedom away that was bought with blood and treasure since the 1770s?

Your strange modern abstract was invented in the 1600s by the Dutch then opened here in 1792 (New York Stock Exchange)

Wanting the stock market to go down is wanting to bite the hand that feeds you,

Unless you can make a living off the land completely naked with no world made things and have the land to do it off of your statement makes no sense,

Like it or not we all have to deal with what you call the “strange modern abstract of what business is” because its not going away anytime soon

You are kinda correct, but the stock market as it was envisioned in the 17th century has very little to do with the monstrosity it is today.

Right now fast trading companies make billions of dollars by trading in milliseconds, but they do not actually contribute to the economy. The whole system is there just to support itself, it has more to do with the tulip trade than with what started the stock market (providing money to the Dutch east indies company so they could send ships to the east indies)

Re: Will the economy collapse?

This video will explain to you how the Central Bank works and that it's actually owned by the big Banks the last time we had a financial crisis they made money bailing us out and then we all paid the Central Bank interest plus what was handed out to the billionaires you know the folks that mr. Trump wants to protect his billionaire friends and corporations setting up laws and regulations to protect them from paying their Fair Way basically turning the working public of America into slavery yes that includes you too Don.

Re: Will the economy collapse?

Stocks are an interesting one, they like many things were founded on good intentions and corrupted by greed. I trace our modern issues with stocks really to the 80s and reagan era shareholder driven goals. See GE. this includes carefully manipulating accounting to appear to be slightly exceeding earnings expectations every year to fit specific guidlines of what investors should invest in. and it worked well, their stocks skyrocketed, others tried that model, still others perfected the buy and slash corporate takeover approaches, and you're left with a bullshit shell now entirely based on shareholder expectations, NOT product quality or business profitability, it's JUST speculation, businesses PRIMARY drive is no longer to make money by makng good products or to appease the customers or to care about the world, it's just to make money for shareholders. That doesnt work for anyone but the shareholders... it especailly doesnt work when they use tax breaks designed to stimulate the economy for everyone and just buy back stocks to consolidate their own wealth and drive up their own share prices ever further - again based ENTRIELY on speculation with no solid ground anymore. That's what danials sayn let it go, let it fuck up all those greedy asshole who've been harding wealth in their smaug caves and let the people chop the dragons head off.

im not ready to go so far, I think for a lot of people many elements of the stock market are working, and theres a lot of well-meaning people with massive amounts of their futures and their work tied up in the stock market. But it's insane also to think it's all good, and to ignore how corrupted the stocks have become, how poor an indicator they are of the general economy, and most importantly how the current model, for the past few decades, has shifted corporate focus away from product and customer, to focus instead almost exclusively on inflating speculative shareholder earnings. It is essentially erasing the benefits of capitalism (driving innovation and better products & services), and actively promoting it's pitfalls (consolidation of wealth and power, greed, exploitation).

Re: Will the economy collapse?

Too much knowledge for these plebs, basically hit all the notes.

Also don; you can call me a socialist like it’s a bad thing, but I don’t see it as a dig. I am what I am, and if it’s a crime to want workers to have power their lives then lock me up.

However, if I call you a corporate bootlicking dog that is not only offensive, but also very appropriate. Please go out and live your life as normal so you can sacrifice your life to the stock market or multi billion dollar corporations so they don’t lose to much of our money.

Re: Will the economy collapse?

yeah its pretty fucked up IMO that my tax dollars go to subsidize 401k's that are being bet on a highly speculated private enterprise. the commies that engineered that scam really nailed it.

obviously that was the point, get everyone sucking on the teat then they will 'root for the stock market'

i am only taking the minimum required for full match by my employer a) because i'm still paying back eye watering college debt and b) i'm a conservative who doesn't believe in government handouts like the 401k program. and even then i'm in vanguard so i'm not paying even more schysters to con me out of money.

for people that don't want to 'federalize business' as trump put it, the reds are pretty cozy with the idea of using public funds to prop up a flawed economic model.

but hey, if you're sucking on the tit, why would you want it to change?

It’s more difficult than some might think to simply buy low and sell high,

let alone trying to buy the bottom and sell the top.(edited)
