I liked models. Rubber powered balsa airplane kits were my favorite. I'd spend days putting one together, only to trash it in a few minutes trying to trim it in to make it fly right. Every now and then i'd get lucky and get one to climb like crazy and stay in the air for a few minutes, and walk over a 1/4" mile to retrieve it. A real feeling of acomplishment that made it all worth it.
I messed with a few estes rockets but my favorite were the plastic rockets that you would put water in them and then attach the launching pump and pump them full of air and then pull the trigger. I wore out so many of those damn pumps.
I looked for those water rockets when my kids were little but couldn't find them, so i just used water bottles, duct tape fins, and a blow gun on the air compressor. Good times. 2 liter bottles were a blast but we got 12oz ones to go much higher.
Those plastic water rockets looked just like your classic DeeZy rocket. ;)
