a lot of the shit we're arguing about does not matter. shit that does not have an impact on 99% of the population, let alone a negative one.
but you know what is an issue? MONEY. WASTING OUR FUCKING MONEY IS AN ISSUE. Seriously, fuck the left and fuck the right, and fuck wasting the hard earned money of the American people.
We are being played. Arguing about shit that doesn't matter while we're hemorrhaging money overseas and ignoring the same red flags that preceded the financial crash in 2008. This is not a partisan issue, its an American issue.
It boils down to two things, the two biggest hits to the American economy in decades (at least):
1.- Our never-ending involvement in the middle east (Iraq>>Afghanistan>>Syria>>...)
Trillions. Fucking Trillions, and counting. Why'd we go there again...?
2.- Housing Market crash of 2008.
Basically, banks were lying their asses off. They'd package a bunch of certified-shitty mortgages together, then re-brand them as certified-not-shitty. BAM! Instant profit out of thin air!! and thats how you make a bubble...
Again, it cost the American people trillions. About 12.8 trillion, conservatively. FUCKING TRILLION. DO YOU UNDERSTAND??? THAT'S $12,800,000,000,000.
in comparison to these two things, nothing else matches up.
they're drops in an ocean.
universal health care? paid. done. everyone gets to live, this is a good thing guys.
higher standard of care for our veterens? done. twice, fuck it lets do it twice.
overcrowded classrooms, underpaid teachers, outdated material? BAM! we got you covered.
what other societal problems can we solve with rational thinking and deep pockets?
the point is, we're ignoring the elephant in the room.
also its smothering us to death.
also there are people in high places that are feeding this elephant and then paying influential people to convince us to bicker and blame each other for the lack of air in the room instead of addressing that massive fucking elephant.
