So sorry to hear this latest misfortune.

Good luck, Ken

Re: Saw a scooter from my hospitial bed

Damn Ken, I hope all goes well and everything works out.

Nice view.....and that's a pretty clean looking scooter BTW.

Mom has had similar problems that were attributed to taking birth control and smoking when she was younger.

Damn doctors. I hope they fix you right this time around. You may want to seriously consider the replacement at this point. My grandmother in-law had a knee replaced when she was in her seventies and it went well for her, other than the fact that her leg was about an inch longer after the surgery. They would probably want to get the infection under control first though. :(

Best of luck to you ken.

Had it Drained again about 2 hrs ago (watch video if your not bothered by it) and sent fluid to the hospital for new culture.

Very painful this time (I really yelped when stuck) because it was just drained a week ago! now Fluid Color way worse color due to probably 40,000 white blood cell count!

Surgery has already been put in for just waiting for approval but since it's kind of a emergency approval should come quick any day, No easy arthroscopic surgery this time! They're gonna dice my knee from top to bottom and then six weeks minimum of IV antibiotics therapy again.

Kind wish it was sooner, my knee is filled back up, I'm so miserable!

Re: Saw a scooter from my hospitial bed

Ken, you are one of my favorite people here. Reading your old posts and asking you all my dumb questions is pretty much how I learned abut puchs and mopeds in general. We are all rooting for you! Stay positive and keep your mind on the next time you'll be blasting. Get home quick.

Re: Saw a scooter from my hospitial bed

So Ken, how's it feeling??

Any better? ?

How long you gonna need to heal?

As long as no infections set in:

Skin-10 days

Bone-6 weeks

Tendons and ligaments- 3-4 months, but still mending even after a year later, if you don't rip them loose in the mean time(personal experience)

And then there's the physical therapy usually for 3-6 months, but often longer, basically use it or lose it.

Good luck ken, and yeah, get home asap.

Re: Saw a scooter from my hospitial bed

What happened? Did you get into an accident or have some serious joint problem?

Re: Saw a scooter from my hospitial bed

I believe after decades of flooring work something has to give out and if it's not your knees then it's your back....

If you read the thread you'll know what happened,

It all stemmed from an injury and infection,

I'm home now but I'm still waiting for ID doctors (infectious disease) to see if I have to be on IV antibiotics at home again or not.
