reliable vehicles

So, I have posted on the army in quite some time, but i was thinking the other day and wanted to share and hear other's experiences.

At this point I own four vehicles: 1997 Mercedes-Benz E320

2004 Audi a4 built motor stage 3 turbo

1980 Honda CM200t

1977 Motobecane 50v

All but one have issues at this point in time and only one on the list has been the most reliable with no problems in the past two years of ownership. Can anyone guess? Haha Who would have thought that my oldest vehicle and one designed by the French is the most reliable with all its wacky wiring. Anyone else have their moped as their most reliable and problem free vehicle and is this strange?

Re: reliable vehicles

O,k. how's this, first 2 you stay warm in the winter , other 2 you don't !

Re: reliable vehicles

my jawa moped was more reliable than any car i ever owned but then again it was worth more too

Re: reliable vehicles

Bad Cadillac™ /

Humm, not an apples to apples comparison here. A bicycle is even more reliable.

Re: reliable vehicles

Obviously not apple's to apple's comparison. I guess you need some more insight on my Moby. It was the first bike I worked on and I felt like I could never get it to work because of lack of knowledge and wacky wiring on those silly little bikes.

Downhill Harvey (OFMC) /

haha my Peugeot 103 is my most reliable bike.

Re: reliable vehicles

Probably Fred /

Pretty much every puch I own kitted or stock is very reliable.

Puchs are overengineered and have built in redundancy

My Chevy astro van is very reliable too.

go buy one from walmart and you solve that problem

Re: reliable vehicles

My yellow Moby is most reliable, the BAT is also a excellent bike but more finicky to start in the cold because it has no choke only a tickler.

Re: reliable vehicles

You want reliable? Get a '94-99 corolla.

Re: reliable vehicles

if you ride a honda cub and drive a honda civic which one is more reliable

Re: reliable vehicles

the honda

Re: reliable vehicles

toyota tercel (aka turd-smell) my buddy had one with over 300k that had been rolled and t-boned (two seperate accidents) and driven as a pizza delivery car for most of its life.

he kept saying he'd get rid of it when it died and couldn't kill it, finally sold it for more than he paid.

Re: reliable vehicles

^Those things are tough as well.

Re: reliable vehicles

The most reliable vehicle I have ever owned is my '84 El Camino that I bought back in 1992. It has a 305 and I removed the computer and all the emission crap. It has headers and Flowmasters and I put an Edelbrock intake and Carter carb on it. I have driven it all over FL and it has been up to GA a few times. In 21 years it only stranded me once when the original starter went out on it. It gets 16mpg with the A/C.

Re: reliable vehicles

^where there is no rust...it will. It would not make 2 winters here.

Re: reliable vehicles

hey, used to live in riverdale..... by dum's corner......

anyway,, german cars are really quirky, i've put 6 ignition coils in my wife's vw cabrio in 2 year......

i would never buy another one. (vw, that is)

my 1999 jeep cherokee is rock solid and bullet proof. has the inline 6 cylinder 4.0. i effing love that car.

i put more miles on my tomos now....... haha florida is great for mopeds

and my snark is really great too

cheers!!

Simplicity is prerequisite for reliability. Sure, most cars now can go many trouble-free miles, but when failure does occur, because of their complex nature, it is rarely a cheap fix.

My boy Blue is too minimal to not be reliable.

Re: reliable vehicles

The Reverend Defecator /

99-2001 Jeep Cherokee

94-97 Chevy Astro van

Owned several of each and all proved reliable. Mopeds on the other hand, really suck.

Re: reliable vehicles

THIS looks Very Reliable!!!

Re: reliable vehicles

^must be nice to have enough money to destroy a vehicle as a party game.... :/

Re: reliable vehicles

its just one tire and rim

Re: reliable vehicles

Also the 3.8 V6 of GM is decent too. I have one in my Buick with 210,000 ml.

Re: reliable vehicles

True....but the brake is roasted, all that shit is very hard on things. Also lucky he did not set something on fire.... It just seems wasteful to me. I bet that left one hell of a groove in the road!
