Two women, two men found in a townhouse basement.
All were shot in the head. Only 30-40 minutes from my house.

You would think with everybody videoing these days the criminals/murders would be deterred but its worse everyday.
When I grew up there was no video, the mob was everywhere, cops were crooked and less of this happened. Man nowadays you will get killed for a few bucks to buy meth or crack.
Hate to say this but things have always been in the world and probably always will be...well at least while humans inhabit it.

that area of the world has some crazy unsolved murders.
the torso murders and beverly potts were the ones that sent chills in my parents spines.
one i remembered growing up was arthur noske. although the killer was allegedly convicted, the body was never recovered.
nah, maybe your town or area of town wasn't like that but our nation as a whole has been full of murder and such, it just seems more now because there are far more people as each decade goes.

No^ Shelly. It's just even growing up in Cleveland west side most people left their doors unlocked/never heard of home invasions or nothing like that.
Cleveland east side had many mob car bombings ("kill the Irishman" movie)but it was bad people killing bad people.

I still leave my doors unlocked. I leave my Jeep running when I run into the gas station or any of the convenience stores in my town. Leave the key in it when I run into the school or the chiropractor. I would never do that, however, if I lived near Minneapolis or St Paul.

I'd be willing to bet that not much has changed if you look at crime/murder percentage-wise. The only thing that has changed is an increase in population and, more importantly, media coverage.

NJ is the moped capital. Most mopeds I got from Akron have NJ stickers on them.
The killer or killers of these four people haven't been caught yet.
As a member of the younger generation on here, I resent that statement, I as well as most of my friends bust our ass on the regs, Its not our fault you guys left us with the short end of the stick, and very little to work with.

Derp, ya'll never must have read the papers. This kind of stuff has been going on forever. It is in fact statistically decreasing as the population of baby boomers enters their twilight years. Geriatrics commit fewer crimes due to decreasing energy and physical ability. Juveniles and young men are the source of criminal activity and the pool is getting shallower, however social media and viral media have combined to present a compelling climate of fear which is not only self serving but increases the sales of myriad companies related to self defense and the propaganda of many right wing agendas.

Thing is a lot of the time (most of the time?) you here about shit like this it ends up that the "victims" were actually pretty shady themselves or at least in deep with shady characters.
some drug dealer and his crack hoes or some gang affiliated retaliation killings or turf war etc.
Very rarely is just some random guy targeted for murder. Criminals know that cops will just write off degenerates killing degenerates and they will write off muggings and car jackings but if some working joe or upstanding citizen gets murdered its a whole different ball game.
And the idea that this sort of stuff is a new occurrence is simply untrue.
Its just that we have the internet and cable news 24/7 so you hear about shit like this and it makes it seem more common.
I have my C&C permit but its not because I am afraid of crime but because it makes me feel like a big man/tough guy.
we need to regulate knives.

What an awful story, this is why I do not watch the news.....so much cruelty, pain. They rearely have any storries about positive things, sometimes, but not often enough.
