yeah, what heavyweight thinkers and innovators believed in god? i mean aside from leonardo, isaac newton, bach, copernicus, galileo, einstein, beethoven, the founding fathers of the united states, (deists and red-letter christians, but believers, nonetheless), and pretty much every single other important member of the intellectual vanguard of western philosophy, science, art, politics, or culture from the time the lights went on in europe until about 1950?

Which church do you mean? A church is a institution, a machination of man, belief in a god, or other deities, or religion in and of itself is a matter of faith. However if you read the writings of most of these men, including the private ones never intended for public consumption, they did indeed hold a faith in god or their interpretation of god. Not everything can be explained by science, science is a means of investigation not an end and most of the aforementioned thinkers of the past understood this.
As for the Kennedy assassination, was there a conspiracy? Of course there was, any assassination involves a conspiracy but I wouldn't use the Oliver Stone movie "JFK" as a guide to draw any conclusions. It's all purely academic anyhow since it happened 47 years ago.
