Honda cb125 disk brake question

Ok so the front brake on my new 1974 honda cb 125 is a disk brake setup but it doesnt seem to be hydraulic its just a cable. I opened the brake up and it was all dry and crusty because the bike was siting for a while. What goes in there? Do i just clean everything and grease it up? It has a gasket so I would imagine something liquid has to be in there?

thanks

bump?

Re: Honda cb125 disk brake question

I'm no expert, but I'm betting you will get better answers if you ask on a CB125 forum...no?

Or, maybe(and I know this is a stretch for cheap ass moped people) buy the manual??? Short of that, search online for said manual. It's available in a PDF all over the place.

and i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure all disk brakes are hydraulic, the fluid is what makes them actually work.

I had a cb200 with that same setup. Hated it cause it was broken. I know a guy on DTT will help you. Its a rad site.

Re: Honda cb125 disk brake question

ok thanks a lot for all the info guys

Re: Honda cb125 disk brake question

Dominique, the CB125 and some other smaller Honda bikes had mechanical disc brakes, no hydraulics at all.

Re: Honda cb125 disk brake question

also thank you for the pics man! i looked on DTT and couldnt find anything this good, just complaining about the setup and converting it to something else nothing about fixing it up.

Re: Honda cb125 disk brake question

yeah dumb, didn't think that one out. now that i think about i don't remember ever seeing the little fluid reservoir on my friend's 125 that had a disc brake. mine is from 1980 and has drum brakes.
