1974 honda cb125 won't spark

So I just bought this bike and I was checking for spark and I found it to be weak so I cleaned the points and then it got better for a bit and then it died again. Now there is nothing at all. From what I read this could be a bad condensor maybe? Everything seems fine this bike is in pretty good shape I just don't know what it could be . what do you guys think?

thanks

Check the wire leading from the points to the condensor

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

It's in really nice shape and the connection looks good.

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

Battery charged? Manually open/close the points while checking spark.

With a test light check for voltage at pos coil, if yes put the light on neg coil and kick it over. Does it blink?

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

Right now there is no battery attached at all, I figured since it sparked without one at first I wouldnt need one to get spark?

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

My CL125 will NOT run without a charged battery.

It's funny that this happened to you when it did, because I did the exact same thing last week and haven't gotten around to solving the problem either.

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

Yup, my cb100 won't run without a battery either... i need to charge that damn thing.

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

i got engine parts for a cb125 Honda....if you need anything

tranny, stator, flywheel, cylinder, etc

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

But Leo, you've tainted them.

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

you*re right

they are conservative cb125 parts

should still work though

Re: 1974 honda cb125 won't spark

I wouldn't want to touch them.
