Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

I was wondering how many of you out there were into larger bikes as well as mopeds.

Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

I have a 99 1100 honda aero I bought new as a leftover in 2000. It now has 41,000 on it. Has been in the shop once with a $150.00 repair. Thought about selling it a couple of times. Yearning for a early to mid 70's bmw 750 or 900.

Honda CBR600RR but I'd rather ride my peds than that. Haven't rode it since the morning of my wedding in June to pay some bills quick and on the way home I blew by a cop going 150 down my road. Thought I was gonna go to jail and miss my wedding but the cop only tapped his brakes.

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

Love all bikes, Mopeds, Bicycles, motorcycles, 50cc or 1500cc. Don't currently own anything bigger, but would like to at some point. Love to have a 1971 Suzuki GT750, an old Norton, BSA, or other English bike. Couple I have ridden that I like are a 2002 GSXR 1000, and 1983 Honda V-45 Magna. And of course the 1974 RD 250.

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

Sullivan & Sullivan,llp /

66 Honda s65, I think the biggest I'd go would be a 125. 60mph is plenty fast for me, and I have no desire to ever ride on the highway.

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

Kevin I would be interested in hearing a comparison between the Bmw 750 and 900. Any major problems or complaints? I'm looking at one of these as a possible next bike and have started doing some research. Seems you can pick up a nice 750 for around 3grand.

I also have a 66 yamaha 305cc in the shed I got for free. Started up after knocking the pistons loose and cleaning the carbs. Needed a petcock got pushed back in the shed about a year ago. Hoping to get it going this winter. Good at starting projects;bad at finishing them.

Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

Hey CaptainNemo, what was the 150$ repair on you Aero? I have a 98 Aero 1100 myself with 30k on it and so far the only issue was one of the plug caps going bad. These bikes have self adjusting valves, shaft drive and disc brakes, almost 0 maintenance machine. Also, what gas mileage to you get, Ive been trying to figure out if I overtuned it...

Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

Hey quick I am guessing you already know this but maybe not. The 98-00 use a single pin motor which vibrates similar to a harley davidson. There is a guide plug that basically wears itself out from the vibration which causes a slow oil leak. Check out the delphi aero 1100 forum. Alot of bikes have had to have this fixed. Mine happened around 25,000 miles. I read somewhere honda knew about put out memos to shops etc etc etc. but never recalled them. My bike is stock. I get anywhere from around 115-150 a tank which is pretty poor but in the norm for this bike from what I read. I got my moped to mess around with mechanically since I never have to with the honda(knock on wood) I like vintage but it's nice having a bike you can jump on and take cross country without a second thought. What color scheme do you have?

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

CB350 =)

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

I have a 1972 Honda CB450. I like it, but I want something a bit more rad next. I've looked into old BMW's a bit but I have too much of a soft spot for the Brittish bikes because my dad used to ride them... I'm saving for a BSA or a Norton, not sure if it will ever happen at this point but whatever haha

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

My first street bike was a 73 450 I bought 10 year ago for $200.00 bucks. A death trap buy hey it ran.

Re: Anyone into larger cc bikes as well?

Bikes I've owned:

72 yamaha r5 (the first rd's. piston port!)

06 ducati monster 695

01 triumph daytona 955i

91 bmw k75 (current)

I love motorcycles.
