moped.org gone?

I keep on typing in www.moped.org and I can't find the site! Has it been taken down?

Re: moped.org gone?

it seems to be down, but that can't be permanent. however, if you go to his site, the link to moped.org has been removed.

what is his personal site's address? i'd like to email him directly and see what's going on. i noticed that a couple of days ago someone submited moped.org as a "bad link" -- but i assumed that it was just temporary.

it makes me nervous that the whois record for moped.org shows a bulk registrar. i hope that it didn't just let the domain expire. it's still not available to purchase, so that's good at least -

It appears to have been renewed on the 27th - by some company. this may be the end of moped.org

I thought ".org" was non-profit? Can they buy a non-profit site name?

Re: moped.org gone? Yep.

Moped .com is owned by someone who wants to sell the name at a profit. Andy was able to get the ".org" designation and used it.

Today I tried it and it now links to something else.

When I first started using the 'net and researching mopeds, moped.org came up. It has always been a favorite site. Even put WWW.MOPED.ORG on the clutch cover of my Vespa Grande with those stick-on letters.

Sadly a great moped resource is gone.

Maybe it will be back under a new URL?
