Re: port matching in portland maine

no, red and minty stock. I was just hoping i could find some one that knew what they where doing instead of working off of a theory based on a french translation from the 60s.

I've ported several Moby jugs and can walk you through it some time..

There are a few good things to know beyond that wiki guide..

Micah knows

He may be kinda busy though.

If you can wait until a fix-it day I bet he would be helpful.

He helped me modestly port my av7.

In my humble opinion it aint really worth it. without spending a lot of money, for every MPH over 36 or 37 you lose enough low end to make it not worth it.

In a place like Portland good acceleration is more important.

That's my 2 cents. but a lot of people with huge ass carbs who get 25 MPG disagree.

Re: port matching in portland maine

I don't mean a modest porting aint worth it. port matching is always good.

Re: port matching in portland maine

While I'm babbling here, I will say one more thing.

a lot of people SAY their moped goes 40.

this usually means their moped goes 36.

Re: port matching in portland maine

dan... when will u be up to wrench?

Re: port matching in portland maine

When it's warm.

My weekends are all pretty booked with jobs I've taken until memorial day weekend. but if a fix-it day materializes I'll try to make it.

My hobbit lacks spark and I just can't get it. are there any hobbit wizards in town?

Re: port matching in portland maine

That would be sweet. Always better to get advice from someone that knows what they're doing

Re: port matching in portland maine

Bob, send me an email and we can sort out a time. Not sure I can join the ride on Sunday, but we'll figure something out.

Porting is always a balancing act with stock components but I'm confident persuading a stock AV7 cylinder towards the low 40's with fair acceleration.
