There is a 1978 Blanco (Intramotor w/ Minarelli engine AFAIK) posted for sale in Marion, Ohio. Listed as ready to ride at $225.
I was considering purchasing it but am not likely to now so I wanted to give anyone else a heads up. I don't know the owner at all but have been emailing for information back and forth.

Yeah, usually I'd say just don't post 'em. If you know of a local/regional forum for your area, then maybe put it there if the people there are okay with it, but otherwise, I'd keep it quiet. Most people here already check CL religiously for deals, so most people will already know it's up there. If they aren't checking, then (IMO) they don't deserve to know about the good deals. I know I'd be pretty pissed if I saw something I really wanted, but I had to work (etc) and couldn't get there until later, and it got snagged by someone who wasn't watching but who saw a post on here about it. It can also drive prices up, since the more people who know about it, the more people will call the person who made the ad. If a guy's trying to sell a mint Magnum for $200 and gets 75 calls about it from people hundreds of miles away, and they're all offering more than he's asking, chances are pretty good that he'll wise up and raise the price.

On other forums & lists (firearms, computers, and other motorcycle forums) we often tell each other when we're planning on purchasing a specific item and the rest back off (even with eBay). I didn't realize such was not the case here. Well, at least now I know.
Also, most honest people don't raise their price because interest is high. As a rule, I don't buy from blatantly dishonest folk so if a seller were to raise the price, they could keep it as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, I won't post moped deals on here again so there 's no problem.
If someone does buy that moped, I hope they post about it as I'm curious how good it is.

Well the listed CL address is no good on that one.
The address still goes to the page... the link works but I'd assume the moped sold already.

This thing was about what the rules or protocol are for MA. I didn't know. I posted a question and received a reply back. Never had I believed that such a posting was 'taboo'. I simply wanted to know where to post it. Once I found out that one doesn't post that on MA, I apologized and know not to do it again.
I'm in MA's house so I play by MA's rules.

MadMike46, did you look at the Moped and if so, how did it look?
They repair mopeds, motorcycles, and scooters so it's possible that I might buy something they list in the far future if the moped looked close to the description.
no i never made it i forgot my phone which had their number in it. i couldn`t contact them to find out were they were located. i idid pic up the batavus i had that address in my gps. pissed me right the fuck off. drove 400 miles round trip and only picked up 1 ped
