Pug 103 clutch to variator?

I have a single speed 103 fixed pulley. I'm wondering if anyone has tried a variator on the bike. I know some models were variated but don't know what if any difference there is in the engine shaft. Could a variator be put on this one?

Re: Pug 103 clutch to variator?

No, a variator cannot be put on a non variated peugeot motor without changing the crankshaft. Non-variated cranks are too short.

well shucks, I guess that settled that! Seems like the minute a man does one lil up grade a whole bunch more pop up wanting attention. This could get addictive! Thanks for the Info!

it's just a real nice batavus w/ out a variatore.

Re: Pug 103 clutch to variator?

you can do it. you have to shave the roller shims inside of the vario down 3mm or so. or you can use a clutchless vario and clutch pulley.
