Just got a maxi sport and when I took apart the bing, I discovered that someone ribbed the main jet out of it! Wondering what ihe stock jet size is? Will a square bing jet work cause I think I have a Sachs carb somewhere.

it should be in the low 60's for a 2hp and upper 50's for a 1.5hp
different size slightly then the square bing, but i have gotten them to work on occasion.
you are probably needing somewhere in the 50's range, but i had a pinto that had a 70 in it when i got it so......buy a bunch. technically your ped should run until wide open throttle with no main jet, as long as it has the proper needle setting. so you should be able to ride just no going full throttle.

Yeah, it's got the 1.5HP engine. I'm ordering a 58 and a 60 from treats along with a petcock (also stolen). The bike is also missing an air filter assy and foot rests? Seems like some sort of covers were originally on the sides.
My stock 2 hp has a 64 and it seems just right. Well everything stock except an unstuffed dmp crank.
it all depends on your carb #. Their are several bings all with different jets. here is a site where you can look up your bing carb

What is the stock just cruising around jet for 1978 puch maxi 1.5hp.Any and all suggestions are welcome.Plug is midnight black after running for 30 minutes and shuts off.Was sitting for 25 years plus.
