The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

Aaron And Kelly Schmits /

I have read every thread on Moped Army about a "Sprinter", "Lambro Colt" "Lambretta" etc. This is the same type of bike as mentioned in this thread.

and this one...

There is still shit for information about these.

Any direction will help tremendously.

Here's the one I picked up to add to our WOT SQUAD arsenal in trade for my old aquarium. Is this thing super rare or what?

I will post more pictures after it is is cleaned up and running! WOOHOO!

WOT! WOT! WOT! WOTTT! SQUAD!

Underground Moped Piracy of Cincinnati!!! YEEEAAH!

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

Looks like the Angel engine.... get a shot of the other side? I assume there must be a belt and big pulley involved.

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

yeah pretty sure that motor was thrown onto a few copies/nockoffs

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

I would say that its a fairly uncommon bike. It looks like it may be a variation of the TYM Industries "Angel" which was made in Taiwan. It seems to be almost all there, clean it up and ride it!

OK - So I don't need another one, but I just spent all day working on this bike. Boy did she clean up pretty. Meticulously cleaned the carb, gas tank, and petcock (super nasty!) All parts ares there except two broken turn signal so I just mounted the the two good one on the back - miraculously all electric is good, horn works, turn signals work, lights work, and she fired right up. I agree the engine looks like the one in the photo of the Angel in the gallery. I would love to ride her, but she keeps flooding. OH MY.....While typing this it dawned on me i didn't put the F****** float back in the bowl when I put the carb back together! HAHAHAHA! What an amateur! Check out the pics! I'm so stoked!

nice pulley!

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

That looks like a Solo motor copy !!!!!!!!!! Does it have an extra bolt plug thingy on the top of the head ? I swear that looks just like my Solo engine to the tee !!!!

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

Aaron And Kelly Schmits /

I agree it looks like a Solo engine, but aren't those water cooled with Bing Carbs stock - This is not water cooled and has a TK Carb....Anybody got an up close shot of an Angel engine they can post?

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

What is the pulley for on these things?

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

engine spins the belt.

belt spins the pulley.

pulley has a countershaft sprocket on it.

this connected to chain drive to spin the engine

angel engine, mikuni carb, cev stator, magura controls

Agreed it is bad ass LOOKING, but is a slow ass turd going up a hill.

Engine purrs like a kitten, but seems like the muffler is killing it - Maybe bad compression...Anyone know anything about these in Cincinnati?

Re: The Mysterious Taiwanese Sprinter...

Ass turd lol.
