I suspect that my pulleys for the belts arent closing all the way amd im losing some power because of this. is the front pulley supposta close to the point where the belt rides pretty high on it? or do the the pulleys just move like a quarter inch closer?

They should close almost all the way.

Make sure that the back pulley is properly lubricated. You can also try the variator mod I described a while back.

Does the rear pulley have to come apart to lube it? or should i just get some grease on the shaft?

I didn't bother taking the rear pulley apart.

Get an old drive belt (from a washing machine or something), and squeeze it over the rear pulley to push the sheaves apart. Spray some pentrating oil (WD-40, or Liquid Wrench) on the inner hub. Work the pulley open and closed a few times to get the oil in.

If you get oil on the pulley faces, clean them as best you can. You might need to use belt dressing (from the auto parts store) to keep the belt from sliding.

Good luck!

Chris.
