KEIDLER???

So, I have the opportunity to buy a new neighbor's 78 Keidler. Good shape. Runs good. 400$.

Are these bikes worth buying? I have become accustomed to my Hobbit, and it's all pretty easy to me now. Are these harder to take care of? Anyone have one?

Lemme know your thoughts.

Re: KEIDLER???

amazing bikes stock from what i hear just no performance parts for them.

Top quality. Probably the best 2 speed transmission ever built on a moped though they do tend to shift earlier than my taste.

Unfortunately they are kinda slow on the top speed, and there are no easily obtainable aftermarket parts in the USA. If you are cool with 25mph, you will not find a better built, more reliable moped. If you are good at porting your own cylinders etc. you can make a respectable 30 or so without needing to find impossible parts.

Re: KEIDLER???

Nice Hobbit, now buy the Kreidler and join the club.

You'll love it, I just added a wiki page .

The flats can get 27-36 if you do a couple things.

Re: KEIDLER???

A new pipe wouldn't boost the top end a bit?

Re: KEIDLER???

do as johnny says and you'll be plenty happy with speed. only pug pipes fit, think treats has one.

Re: KEIDLER???

Too late...he sold it to a guy from Utah. Ah well.
