Vespino (pics)

Vespino has been one of the most succesful mopeds here, even there are lots of people who name "vespino" to all mopeds. Slower and cheaper than a Derbi Variant, also appeared first in the market, where both were best-selled mopeds for years. It was made by MotoVespa in Madrid, being a Piaggio filial with own models. After Vespas were no longer made in Spain, Vespinos were only bike made in that factory. Last years sales lowered too much and finally last year production was stopped, basic (but modernized) Vespino even survived the most modern Vespino-Velofax derivated moped. Shown here are last versions:

Thanks, Bill, very interesting page, an exemplar one I thought. Here's something funny to me:"Earl made no bones about his inspiration for the new LaSalle: the magnificent Hispano-Suiza" It confirmed what was in the italian book, it remembers me the Lexus, trying to look like a Mercedes-Benz, or the Hyundai Elantra? , trying to resemble a R-R ...

Here's a Hispano-Suiza, brand from my city, I'm proud of it, it's not only important as being recognized as one of best cars ever, but also because the aviation engine they developed during IWW is unanimously recognized as maybe tyhe main fact that decanted the war to allies in the air...

mine? It doesn't with a pretty bum crank. It does have some cool stuff though: 60cc metra, aftermarket variator, hebo circuit exhaust, and they have CDI and reed valve case induction. I was told back when it ran it was a rocket. Maybe one day.

Re: Vespino (pics)

How different are the motors from regular Vespas?
