After reading more about your problems, I tend to agree that it sounds like a carburetion problem, most likely a little dirt clogging up the carb jet. That same problem had caused difficulty with the last 2 mopeds I've owned (not Peugeot's, however). Get that carb clean as a whistle, then put a good filter inline between the tank and carb."
