'76 Mobylette, near completion in this pic. I had not yet received my new variator from '77 at that point. It mostly happened over half of the summer. It was purchased seized, covered in silver rattle can and hanging from a tree. The crappy rattle can actually preserved the original paint and a fair amount of the chrome.
Repairs made:
used Seat
New Cables
new sheathing for the wiring
new cylinder/piston
new crank bearings
new seals
new tires
new side covers
new leg shields
new saddle bags
new driven pulley bearings
used tire pump
new variator
new handle grips
cleaned, greased and adjusted wheel bearings
SHA carb
MBK cdi
This project, including the price of the bike ran just over $600 The carb and CDI were done to improve it's reliability. and obviously the money that went into the white wall tires, leg shields and saddle bags was extra that you certainly would not need to spend.
Notice the rust at the bottom of the fender strut, I've fixed that too since this was taken.
