Taking a littel off the top.... and bottom

I am trying to fit my 2.5 savas on the maxi, the sides of the swingarm are rubbing the tire just a little. Instead of buying that crappy ebr swingarm I thought I might try to dremmel or saw a little off the side give the tire some clearance. My question is... is this a stupid idea?

It looks like a lot of stresse would be placed on the sides of the swingarm, where i would be removing material, i dont want to die because of this...

Thanks for the help.

if you do, be sure to reinforce it afterwards

Re: Taking a littel off the top.... and bottom

shave the tires.

its cheaper and easier

Re: Taking a littel off the top.... and bottom

I just pulled the tire back as far as i could and then rode around till it wore down a bit.

Re: Taking a littel off the top.... and bottom

There was this great memory with Burt Munro in "The Fastest Indian" carving up them tires with a kitchen knife. thanks ring...

You can spread out the rear swing arm a bit.
