Headlight Q

I have an 80 honda express. I didn't realize you would blow the headlight if you didn't have a battery. So of course I blew it.....or so i thought. Today while riding in the rain, which was the shiznat, I was hitting the switches and noticed my bright light still works. Obviously it is possible to just burn out the regular headlight? And my other question, are the po po's gonna pull me over if I have my brights on or is it dim enough? Thanks to all. You've been more than helpful.

Re: Headlight Q

I doubt a moped can put out enough light to be much of a concern to the cops. They don

Re: Headlight Q

I agree with that... don't worry about the cops... they will probably think you are smart to have your headlight on...and they don't know if it is brights or not.

But... without a battery you will now burn out your high beam filament... you only burned out the low beam so far... even a dead battery will protect the lights.

Re: Headlight Q

weird, i have an 80 honda express too, and my regular headlight is out as well.

cops really wouldn't know that it is your high beam. they probably don't even know that mopeds can have high and low. don't worry about that.

what color is your honda, canary yellow or blue? mine is yellow.

Re: Headlight Q

I have a 1978 and 1981 honda express and the 78 wasnt working for a while, so i put the headlight from it on the 81 and it and it worked for a while then both the high and low beam burnt out even though it had a battery in it. but what im trying to get at is that is i was wondering if any one could tell me were to get a new headlight for the 78 i recently got running.
