SOLEX vs KINETIC-which is better?

"Wanting to buy a moped, got to have pedals and be under 50cc, SOLEX and KINETIC seem to be all I can find, anyone know how they compare? SOLEX 3800 costs $995, KINETICs go for more; SOLEX weigh 62 Lbs, KINETICs weight more, etc.
I'll just be riding on sidewalks, maybe some on forest service dirt roads, putting around. "

PUCH is king of Mopeds.

You won't have to pay more than a couple hundred bucks, and it will last a lifetime. You can still buy a new PUCH also, but it will cost you somewhere around $1400.
SteveM."

"the problem with solex is that they are direct drive where the kinetic is chain and I believe that chain is better but that is just my opinion
: : Wanting to buy a moped, got to have pedals and be under 50cc, SOLEX and KINETIC seem to be all I can find, anyone know how they compare?
The Solex has a 0.7 H.P. engine, and you won't be too happy with it if you do alot of hill climbing. In its own right though, it is the gas mileage champ at 200MPG.

I own two of them and my first impression was that they are gutless. You have to understand that they are actually a motorized bicycle, and as such I would rather motor one than pedal it! Either way, you gotta love 'em if you own 'em.

Check out the Yahoo Clubs for the Solex Owners of America. Lot's of good info there!
