I NEED A MOPED IN WISCONSIN AND NOT THE DAMN 650 DOLLAR SCOOTER THERAPY PEDS

Re: WISCONSIN MILWAUKEE

You get what ya pay for.

If yer expectin to get something in the $150-$400 range, expect it to need parts and service to a degree where you wind up payin about $250 more in cash, time, effort and frustration.

Re: WISCONSIN MILWAUKEE

If you're mechanically inclined, the classic mopeds are the way to go. Part of the fun of mopeds is never knowing when they'll give out. Of course, maybe it's just fun because I have lots of people around to help me figure out how to fix things when they break.

Where exactly are you located? I am coming to Madison this weekend on my way to pick up a bike I just bought from Ebay, so perhaps we can help you out.

email me at the address above and we'll see what we can do.

Re: WISCONSIN MILWAUKEE

If you pay $650 for a moped, you're getting something that's in really good condition and will run reliably. You're basically paying for the parts and labor (mainly labor) and a bit of markup cost if you get a complete moped at Scooter Therapy.

If you want to pay less than $200 ... then you will need to make serious repairs. It's as simple as that. I don't bitch about paying $5000 for a nice used car and hope to get a car in similar (near-new) condition for $500. It's just not going to happen.

If you buy a cheap moped, you will have to learn how to fix it (which is a good idea to learn to do regardless). But that's most of the fun. And you can customize it and make it look really awesome. But for lots of money, you will get a sharp looking bike (or a brand new one) and have to pay more. It's just basic economics.

Re: WISCONSIN MILWAUKEE

Last time I've Checked Scooter Therapy was selling a used Honda Elite for $650, but for that price they also include new tires, change oils, etc. SO basically you can just ride out without any worries. If you want a cheaper scooter, than you're looking fo A LOT of work...Chances are, it'll probably stall in the middle of the road and it'll probably be very slow.
