Motobecane A, B, C types

what are the different parts on the motobecanes that would make a difference in speed?

Yes. Those three letters refer to speed differences, as determined by about 5 different parts, all of which can be upgrade to the faster versions one at a time to incrementally increase the speed. I used to have a B, the 25 mile an hour version - but I've upgraded to a faster carb and I'm getting 30-35 now.

The strange part is that what means what is different depending on the date. Unfortunately I don't remember which is which, and I'm at work so I can't check my literature right now. B is always the 25mph version, A and C flip flop at 1980.
