puch carburetor woes

I've got a 1980 Sport MKII, and if I don't shut off the gas when parking it, the gas drips slowly out of the carburetor. My friend says the trouble is the needle valve that feeds the bowl at the bottom; it doesn't know to stop filling the reservoir. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks, Jake. Are those parts easy to come by? Do I need to find actual Puch parts or just go to a motorcycle shop?

I had the same problom. All you have to is go to a lawn mower store and ask for a needle valve. I think there all the same size. The one off my 350 H.P boat fits my moped. that should fix the problem if it dosent it means your float level is to high. to fix it all you have to do is beend the float so that the needle valve closes with less gas in the float bowl.

Re: puch carburetor woes

Jeff I can set you up with all of the orignal puch/bing parts or complete carburetor if necessary.
