I have a 1980 express that needs mirrors. I don't have it with me, so does anyone know what size threads the mirrors have? I may see if I can find cheaper mirrors to fit off another scooter.
Thanks,
Ethan

I found out they are 8mm, i think. Thanks anyway
Standard size!
I think that any mirrors will fit. I've used mirrors from other mopeds, and the mirrors from a 1972 Honda 350.
That said, I don't know what size they are. If I was to guess, I'd guess that an 8mm x 1mm, or M8 bolt would probably fit.
That's the same size that bicycle (and moped) stems use to secure the expander wedge.
Yesterday I broke one of the mirrors on my Urban Express on the first day I got it to run. Wahs.
all i know is that the mirrors from a 1977 ct125 will not fit... as i thought i would be smart and buy 2 sets of mirrors for my ct, when they wont fit on my express >=(
The mirrors we have at Quarterkick will thread right into the holes on the switch and handle clusters. Then just jam the top nut down onto the cluster and you are good to go. I use the square ones, round ones are from the same manufacturer so they should work as well.
most motorcycle mirror posts are 10 mm, while most moped/scooter mirrors are 8mm in my experience
"most motorcycle mirror posts are 10 mm, while most moped/scooter mirrors are 8mm in my experience"
That explains the mirrors I have kicking around that I thought were for some kind of truck.
Nick, maybe you could grind down your extra set of mirrors and find a die that's the right size. A standard tap and die kit should come with an M8 die.
You could also duct-tape a stick to your bars and put one of those little mirror stickers on the end. I did that for a while...
naww i'm happy with $5 wall-mart mirrors for now... but thank you!
