my favorite, is when you fire it up on a cold day, get exactly half way to work (a two mile trek) and it dies... and then you fight for 20 minutes trying to get it started, and give up and just start pedalling it because you're already late for work... when you pull into the parking lot at work, you park your bike as usual, reach down to turn off your petcock, as usual, and realize then, that you had never turned your petcock on in the first place, and rode the first mile (mostly downhill) on the fuel that was hanging out in your float bowl.
