and you give me shit because i wanted to name the gang the Cover Girls?
LOLERCOASTER!!
skating is cool, man. back in the day we used to have birthday parties at united skates of america at southgate. i think some dude was dressed up as a chicken, and then we did the chicken dance. on roller skates.
i ref for the local roller derby team. quads are required.
I used to go to the rinks when I was a teenager. I can sure ride a bike, but I CANNOT roller skate! I have tried for years. I can push off with one, and coast on the other, and that's about it. The one good thing about it, is I met alot of girls that way, and they'd always feel sorry for me and pull me along; but that still felt foolish.
My younger daughter where's a pair all the time around the house, even today. She's actually really good on'em.
Another thing, is I have been intrigued by roller derby since I was a small boy. A few years ago, I talked to quite a few of the girls around here, and we almost got a team up and going. Sadly the main girl that woulda just ruled, moved away. Now it's just a fun discussion. I even found a perfect building to use, but I think my dream has died.
Some of the girls here in town really need an outlet like that to take out their aggressions! hehee.
I like roller skating if I am watching and not falling by getting the stupid skates on myself.
There's a few roller derby girls on the moped army even. They make me smile in a good way!
I'm so excited someone started a roller skating thread. I am a derby girl as is one of the other buffalo gals. We bring the boys along for trips to the skating rink. SO FUN!
Oh, and Jay, I am really going to try and convince our girls to make a trip to Louisville next season since you will have our Dylan...by the way, convince him to ref. He's an awesome skater.
In case you were wondering, my derby name, Dusty Bibles.
Yay, another one of my heros!!
i love to skate

The Ithaca Suffer Jets were a real good time when we went out for the ithaca rally.
I've been wanting to get back on rollerskates for a long time. but I can never find used ones that fit me, as soon as I can afford some new ones i'm going to. I'd really like to make my own so I might get one of those kits online. I'll make some out of chuck taylors, till I break my ankle.
:)
Roller Derby and Mopeds, a match made in drunk heaven.
ive tried to skate on actual roller skates, but i cant do it, lol. i can roller blade really well, roller skating, not so much.
