Just bought a 1963 Peugeot 104 (see pic)

I just bought a sweet looking moped ($170)...that doesn't run. It doesn't have spark. I have had a mechanic friend look at it and he says that everything, including the engine, is in really great shape for its age. Minimal rust, not dents, scratches, and orignial tires have pressure. I am a newbie to mopeds but am mechanically inclined to tackle problems. Here is a pic to give you an idea (http://www.rhb.com/mymoped.html) of what it looks like. So, what should I try first to get this thing running? Clean the carburator and points? Reading through other Peugeot problems on this site, I anticapte that this could be a lengthy and frustrating process to get it to start. Where could I find a manual that would have engine diagrams for either this exact model or something similar? Someone suggested Sportsbay.com but I couldn't find Peugeot specific manuals. I realise that to get good detailed answers to my questions I must in turn supply good detailed information about the problem. So if you could point in me in the right direction initially I'm sure I'll return back with more detailed questions. Thanks.

Go to the topic "honda pc50 from canada" and read the first reply by Fred. This will give you good instructions on getting it running.

Cool bike... Am I hallucinating, or is there only one side of the handlebar? Doesn't look very safe to me...

I was checking this out on ebay. Did you buy it off ebay? I really looks like a nice ride. I showed my boss this actual picture a couple of weeks ago and he loved it too. Good luck on getting her to run : )

Dave,

Look again and see the left side brake lever.
