Look, we _have_ to pay taxes, it is the cost of civilization, period. But if I'm making 30K and you want to take 10K from me, that's a lot, I don't have much left over for survival. Conversely, if I'm making 300K and you take 100K, shit I've still got 200K, plenty for any man's needs. So the point is that the republicans saying that they won't raise taxes, and at the same time spending more and more each year is puerile. Someone is going to have to pay the $6,000,000,000,000,000 (yes, that is what $6 trillion dollars looks like) deficit that has been created by the bond & spend republican philosophy. Guess who is going to have to foot that bill? We are, and guess when, probably with in the next ten years, add to that the retiring Baby Boomers & their social entitlements, Military Spending, the colossal cost of our bloated federal government, and see if you can figure out where that will leave us?
Are you starting to get pissed? If something isn't done NOW we are fucked! And do you really think that McCain has a reasonable plan? or for that matter _any_ plan for dealing with this? His whole candidacy is a disaster, his whole answer is to cut taxes, how does that help anything? Obama at least has presented ideas to start dealing with these problems before they bankrupt us all, yes we will have to pay more taxes, just like eventually, you have to pay your credit card debt. Yes it sucks, but we have to deal with it. As adults, now, in our lifetimes. Now who better to foot the largest chunks of that then the people/companies that have profited most from the failed economic policies that allowed them to stuff their coffers while bleeding us dry?
oh and by the way: you break your back for $20/year, you work hard for $40K/year, no one, but no one "works hard" for $250K/year. you may bust your ass to get there, but at that point, you ain't sweatin'.
