so i downloaded megaman 9 for the Wii ware a few days back. a BRAND NEW nintendo style 8 bit megaman game. needless to say i have been stuck up my wii's ass trying to beat it. its hard as hell but i finally beat it. and this week ill be able to download protoman as a playable character!

the way i see it, of ALL like, 25 megaman games, almost everyone will tell you thier favorites are 1,2, and 3.
this is exactly the kind of thing we need in video games.

Ya, I downloaded that on my ps3 and I dont really like it as much as Megaman 2 for my nes. This remake is extreamly hard and has all that roll stuff.
Mega Man 2 was the shit, I played that all the time. This is hard but I imagine Mega Man 2 was hard when I first played it.
I dld 9 on my wii and cant beat a fucking level. SO haaard.

oh and if you think the robot levels are hard...wait unitl you play the wily stages..w/o being able to save your progress....its insane

actually, once you play a little while, its AS easy if not easier than MM2. you just have to re-condition yourself to 8-bit mode, and earn your status one title at a time.
but heres some tips:
start with either galaxy or hornet man, both are pretty easy.
galaxy beats jewel
jewel beats plug
plug beats tornado
tornado beats magma
magma beats hornet
hornet beats splash
splash beats concrete
concrete beats galaxy
hornet chasers can retrieve items laying around
concret can "freeze" lava streams
SAVE all your screws until its wiley time, then LOAD UP on E-tanks.
dont be afraid to die and continue to refill your special weapons
I started with Concrete and then tried Tornado, then gave up for the night. Ill try Galaxy first...
I stopped getting excited for Mega Man a long time ago. The Mega Man X series were pretty fucking rad on the SNES because it added some new features and strategy tot he game play. But Mega Man is destined to get stale after so many sequels that add little extra value to the series. We don't need a Mega Man 9. I bet its the same ol' same ol'.

its the exact opposite of whats been pumped out in the last few years..and exactly what the franchise needed.
i find myself swearing up and down sometimes but the hours of challenging fun are well worth the minuets of frustration

UPDATE! i just downloaded protoman, now i can play through as him.
if you thought normal mode was hard...SHEESH! yeah, you can slide, and do the charge shot, and deflect bullets with your shield, BUT 4 hits and your dead. SUPER hard. also no store availiable.
BTW in the japanese version, thier HARD mode is our NORMAL.

Sounds like I actually need to download Mega Man 9 so I can criticize it more accurately. Just as a heads up for me, what "new" features make Mega Man 9 not another chees-o sequel?
