bumpity bump bump!!
OK don't do that
Call handybikes- they have a 1-800 number.
Ask for BJ and wait if you have to.
That piece you are getting the Jet number off of is not the jet. it is the nozzel. The jet is the smaller piece with the screwdriver slot in it at the end. It will have smaller numbers stamped on the side of it. What size are you looking for? And why do you need to downjet?

Chris... I actually went and looked at Troy's bike. It is running terribly low on power and the plug chops show a very rich mixture. The bike runs better with the air cleaner off, which leads me to believe that he does need to lean it out.
We have rules most everything out, other than a timing issue, becuase I can't seem to get the damned flywheel cover off short of a crowbar, which we didn't have the day I was there. it isn't a 20 mph version, because it did run better before he took it to have it worked on, and I think they guy there did richen the carb up a good bit.
Hmmm. Can you find out what was done at the shop. Doubtful that they would have richened it up (other than maybe drilling the jet out as there is not much of a selection for Sachs type jets) Check that they did not use silicone for the carb top gasket.( I see that all the time and it cuts off the bowl vent making it run rich) . Also check the float level.
It is pretty bad when you need a flywheel cover puller...

Hey it's not that bad- you just have to hit it at angles that you can't get to while the engine is on the bike, and try not to bend it, and don't break anything else----Well OK I guess it is that bad.
I have seen a few sachs motors that actually have a plastic cover that has 4 screws, but that would make it too easy.
Who has a drill press? Jeweler drills are $6.oo a set and come in .001 " intervals. Gotta torch, flux, silver solder? Seal it up and try again. I just went from a .028" jet to a .019" jet on the SACHS. Solder it up an drill it out...
Thats my 2 cents... of course I find ways to not pay for expensive parts I can make w/ minimal effort.
like i said "if" you gotta drill press..
doesn' everybody?
You don't even need the drill press. You can easily drill out the jet with a pin vise. Which usually comes with the smaller wire guage drill bit sets. Get a set from #60-#80 and you will be in the Jet resizing business.
