Oil injection has got to go

So I have removed my oil injection on my magnum with a za50. WTF do I put where the pump goes, It won't run with out the pump installed. What do you guy's put in place of the injection pump. Please help.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

Make a block off plate from flat aluminum stock, and use a paper gasket.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

Ok, should I remove the stuff inside that spins or just leave it in there.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

if you don't block off the inlets will I have an air leak?

Re: Oil injection has got to go

why remove the oil injection its a mikuni pump it should work fine

it the same pump as the older expresses and fa50s had

Re: Oil injection has got to go

I've seen that pump fail. Magnum MKII. 600 original miles. pump failed. seizure.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

but those mikuni pumps dont just fail

that same pump was used on

honda express before 81

yamaha qt50

suzuki fa50

carabela deluxe

honda spree

many others

the only rerason why the pump would fail is cause the o rings inside were dried up from sitting with no oil in it

Re: Oil injection has got to go

Why remove it? Well.... Isn't that what I should be doing if I plan on kitting it.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

In my experiance the oil injection systems on magnum MKII's have worked great.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

But the question is how do you know how much oil your getting. I would assume that if I upjet my carb I am getting more gas but the same amount of oil.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

Dellorto makes the pumps for Tomos, doesn't mean anything since they usually crap out. Bitchin' carbs tho.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

dellorto pumps usually crap out beccause a the line gets kinked, b u dont add enough oil and c because the breather holes get clogged and the oil flows much slower if at all

Re: Oil injection has got to go

not to go all targaped or anything, but i swear by that oil injection system, and have never seen one fail so far. plus if Puch chose it, you know its gotta be good, right?

Re: Oil injection has got to go

but yet vespas run great with delorto pumps

Re: Oil injection has got to go

(im talking about the mikuni one, not the dellorto)

Re: Oil injection has got to go

But the question is!!! IF I KEEP UP JETTING i am getting more fuel but the same amount of oil. so how do I get my mix correct?

Re: Oil injection has got to go

eric is me also

Re: Oil injection has got to go

if youre kitting, remove it.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

Thank you a-ko. I will kit it soon so I just want to get the dam thing ready.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

I've put 25000 miles on my magnum with a pump... If you have a kit you can always throw some synthetic in the tank..

Re: Oil injection has got to go

I put 10,000 miles on my Polini with the pump... usually just throw an ounce or two of synthetic in the tank... but there are times when I ran str8 gas and it was fine... it ran zippier w.o the extra oil if anything...

Re: Oil injection has got to go

How do you go about finding an intake with the injector hole in it?

Re: Oil injection has got to go

I tapped the nipple into the Polini intake.... works awesome!

Re: Oil injection has got to go

i am taking mine out....i plan on just taking off the injector and putting some metal over the hole. i want to leave everything in place in case i want to go back to it later.

Re: Oil injection has got to go

Brendan, Why are you taking it off just curious?

Re: Oil injection has got to go

aesthetics, and i just upgraded the carb and the new intake doesn't have the nipple for oil. i may decide to go back though and just bore out a 12mm intake with the nipple

Re: Oil injection has got to go

they r nice and i wouldn't remove mine unless u r going performance or it fails. if u r going performance u can do both, but i wouldn't, for the security of me forgetting some little detail like oil.
