I just traded my Stella( Vespa clone) 150cc, two-stroke scooter for a mint 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250.

It's amazing!

Re: small street bikes

you can also find the Yamaha YSR50 pretty easily

you should check out <www.50cc-motorcycles.com> they have a pretty extensive list with pics and stats

Re: small street bikes

Anything 2 stroke. Lots of great stuff in the late 60's and early 70's

Re: small street bikes

50cc street motorcycles are hard to find, if they weren't, I'd have one. And no, I don't count the Madass. Even with a manual transmission, a 50cc 2 stroke will run circles around it. Most 50cc 2 stroke motorcycles are dirt only.

Re: small street bikes

no groms no blasters /

why not get a bigger one?

Re: small street bikes

The Honda Rebel is about the sweetest small streetbike I know of, without getting into antiques. It's a 250 but feels smaller. They are stone reliable, and can be found on Craigslist quite often, in all kinds of conditions and prices. On any bike, watch out for something that has been crashed. Mechanical things can be fixed, but if the frame is all mangled from a crash, it's worthless except for what few good parts might still be on it.

Re: small street bikes

The Ninja 250 is a great small sportbike, but very uncomfortable on longer rides, because the bars are to low, and the pegs are to high. I know, I had one. Maybe if you were really young, that might not be a problem.

Re: small street bikes

Get a small enduro / dual sport and put street tires on if you want. Like a Yamaha DT175 or XT200.

Re: small street bikes

already hava a honda 125 enduro

Re: small street bikes

If you're used to screwing with 2 strokes go with Suzuki or Yamaha.

Just about anything from Honda will be reliable and boring...Sans the MB5 or NS50.

YSR if you're a freaking midget with a death wish.

In the cubic capacity that you listed my ultimate choice would be the Bridgestone 175/200 series...Advanced quality the others can't match and fast as shit when setup proper (and once complete will actually be worth something unlike all the others)..

Re: small street bikes

heres my yamaha DT200r enduro. i fucking LOVE it.

Re: small street bikes

whoops! imageshack is hiding the links now...

Re: small street bikes

I find the older yamas more attractive:

Yamaha RD200, see if Jimmy notices his bike or not.

Re: small street bikes

salty i'm really trying to track down a bike like that. how long hae you had her?

Re: small street bikes

Does it need to be new? If not then: Any Yamaha RD,DS,DT,LT,IT, or (if you're the luckiest SOB ever) TZ series of appropriate displacement. Kawasaki G3SS. Any and every Motobi, Guzzi, Ducati, Benelli, Aprilia, Derbi, Laverda, MV Agusta, or several others, again of the size you like. Some of those Italians are likely to be four strokers, but they will be simple anyway.

Re: small street bikes

looking for something with disc brakes. cb125 looked pretty good

Re: small street bikes

Any yamaha rd is sexy as shit . Bad part is apparently everyone has figured this out. Even the old cb's from the 70's are bringing big money.

If you do go cb, try and get the disc brakes.

If you can sport for the 350, try and get a 4cyl, way smoother.

Rebels are cool choices as Jerry mentioned for short money - and for good reason - often times people buy them for thier wives/sig other, then when they decide they arent into it, they dump em, so you can grab em cheap.

The yamaha virago 535 or whatever it is is like that too - smaller and lighter but still cool and cheap. Yamaha radian as well. Honda sabre 700 or 750 are RIPPIN cool.

Ok thats as big as ill get.
