Ways to avoid Illinois Insurance Checkpoints

Ride a moped.

That simple.

I've managed to skate by these things twice un-noticed, last night being the most notable.

I snuck though it between a semi truck and a large van.

I didn't feel like explaing why I have no insurance on a my moped. And I'm sure telling them it's pointless is not what they want to hear ha

So uhhhh, why is having insurance on a moped pointless?

Some day if you are involved in a hit and run, get hit by someone with no insurance, or if you smash into someone yourself you won't think so.

Re: Ways to avoid Illinois Insurance Checkpoints

Kinda funny, moped insurance is what $80-100 a year? How much is the fine for no insurance?

Re: Ways to avoid Illinois Insurance Checkpoints

500 dollar fine in Il

Cost me $180 yearly for minimum insurance

Re: Ways to avoid Illinois Insurance Checkpoints

The problem is if you have a kitted bike you're screwed. If you're hit or you hit someone and there's any serious money involved the insurance company will most likely try to find a way to invalidate your claim. That's what they do. A 65cc kit gives them cause. It's sad but true. (Metalicca...lol)

Re: Ways to avoid Illinois Insurance Checkpoints

Yeah, and it totally says "65cc" all over kits.
