jeremy's favorite color is green.
Totally cool meeting you tonight!
There'll be plenty of good times to come!
sorry i missed it, but i was attending the private jamaica plain fix-it.
did we actually fix anything
We fixed my lack of knowledge of how to MIG weld. And then Joe came over and we got my Puch started at like 1 : )
Sorry if I'm being obnoxious, I've wanted to learn to weld for YEARS. Now I just need to break something on one of my peds that requires welding to fix.
we fixed a pedal. amanda learned how to weld and put a bing carb back together. i learned that phil ecklerjwekwjrgl's last name is spelled phil ecklecamp? i think i got it right. and not phil rectalcramp. i also learned what IPA stands for in beer and that sheila is 25 years old and has two cats. shes got her phd in crazy cat lady...ness
oh yeah and susan put something in my butt
im kicking myself out of the gang for missing this.
but the good news is that i got serious work done on my 79 moby.
its ok. just dont let it happen again.
next week we should def go to cabots and then go do some karaoke in allston
i just finished the loose ends on my new front end. it looks really really killer. rad time tonight, there was so much cool shit there.
lets do a sweet ride this weekend, cliff jumping/swimming somewhere? friday looks like it would be perfect.
oh and thanks again jeremy for the forks! i owe you! (literally, ha ha)
i'm not a crazy cat lady! they're not even my cats!
ok just crazy lady who borrows peoples cats
hey ain't nuthin wrong with being a cat lady
amanda, if you really wanna test out yer welding skills we should go to one of the lower the roof parties that the alter boys hot rod club puts on sporadically throughout the year. not everyone gets to weld but watching a bunch of 80 year old guys chop the shit out of roofs on 30's and 40's cars is a treat in itself.
Yeah friday looks like a great day for the beach!
I'm there! Does Sabat have the day off?
Speaking of chopping the roof off of a car, has anyone seen that dude with the convertible VW pickup truck cruising around? I've seen this dude twice in the last week. He chopped his roof off and welded in a a support bar. What I don't get is that he has absolutely zero convertible top. I wonder what he does when it rains? Anyway, the thing is spray painted bright yellow and completely rocks my socks off.
If we could only have gotten Phil's moby running! It was a good night and it was nice to see the MIT space. Model train nerds are awesome.
I am unavailable Friday, and Saturday. I have to babysit Saturday night and Carey Sue and I have a babysitter Friday....which never happens, so we are going out.
i might (fingers crossed!) have Friday off. Otherwise, I'm not free till Sunday.
friday, i'm out. plans.
although now that i have two running mopeds, maybe i will coerce him into going with me if it's not too far/not too fast.
i cancel our nice dinner plans and give him a quick tutorial on handling mopeds before rocking it with ten of my moped brethren? or he rides double on the bonester?
i bring the class.
Shit! Who had the welder!!!!
I've got this Puch dirtbike pipe that I need to hack and weld to fit the rigid.
Any chance I can get in touch with the person who brought it!!
tim (treehugger) has a welder at miters, the mit machine shop.
Anybody interested in a lil fix-it session in the Brighton/Allston area this Sunday?
"it takes a nation of people to fix a jawa"
i gotta work all weekend so i can't ride or do a fixit this weekend. but if you're looking for a place to do the fixit, there's a great parking lot at the carpenter's union building across from my apt. (corner of Market and Washington) and then further down there's the HUGE one at St. Columbkille's, except that'll probably be in use on a sunday. you guys can all fix mopeds and stare longingly across the street at my apartment.
i'm down only if i can see gizmo peering out the window.
I'm not fixing that damn jawa any time soon. I'd be workin' on the maxi I got from a guy in JP. I need to put new tires on, remove my intake studs so I can install a 15mm bing/intake/intake riser, put on a pipe and then hopefully fire her up.
ah shit ben i forgot you needed a welder. i dunno if you got the message i left you the other night. if tim is available we can chop and weld it. hes got a sawzall and a mig welder.
if you yell his name loud enough, he'll come to the kitchen window. tried that one the other night at 2 am on my way back from the pub
maybe sheila could bring her loaner cats, i'll leave the apartment unlocked
