The Doppler shows a HUGE rain system over Albany moving this way....
It may or may not clear Boston by ride time......
Let's figure out some indoor fun so we have an alternative activity to do in case we get hit with thunderstorms!

i rode to work, forecasting a break in the clouds by the time i leave. i fear this was a mistake. like i said in the last thread, people are welcome to hang out at my place, but maybe thats a little boring and also out of the way.
if it IS really rainy, i may just take the opportunity to work on my bikes so i can have the '62 ready for next week.
Well we could always do a bowling thing like the one we did at our rally..... although I havent bowled since my hogh school Senior prom... and yes they did have automatic pin resetters back then... and we should maybe open discussion about a rain date for the ride... say Friday and see if people are available then!
We can also try to set up a group fixit Sat or Sun... with a nice ride afterwards!

Hmmmm....If we move the ride I probably cannot make it. It would be nice to sit down and discuss things....

Bowling is always a hoot. So is riding in the rain.
Actually, after the ride to concord, I had the pleasure of riding home in a heavy downpour. It was so not fun....I was soaking wet and cold. I talking about a monsoon type rain...
I hope to be there at least for the gathering at the OtherSide. Is that where folks are meeting weather permitting?

Sabat Mike and I had to ride from the Arlington end of Mass Ave all the way to ack Bay and we were totally soaked to the skin!

Like usual, wet road and my lack of fenders probably = no ride for me. But if there's a mini break and dry roads for the meet up, I might just come down and say hi.

based on my analysis of the <"doppler radar":http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive/02138?from=36hr_maps&zoom=8&interactiveMapLayer=radar>;, it appears that this storm will pass us by. hit the play button and zoom out, and you will that it appears its just going to skirt boston, avoiding a direct hit.
That's what I'm hoping for but theres pretty heavy weather all the way to Ithaca!
but its all heading north-north-east, and not toward us!

Hi guys/gals, (my first post - woo hoo)
I was excited to get out and meet you guys tonight. Rode into work, or should I say, almost rode into work. Rain didn't stop me - my moby did. I had to abandon it near Dali's in Somerville. Don't exactly know what's wrong. I didn't have time to look at it. Gas flow might be the problem. I'm down for the fixit...
Anyway, I guess I can only meet up on foot and only until 9. Sounds like it may be an indoor event anyway.
You know KINGS Bowlarama is near the Other Side.
That sounds like it could be fun IF we get rained out!

ha ha ha. very funny, sheila. that happened once, ok, twice...
it was cutting in and out. if I let it sit it would work fine for a couple secs. then die out. I think I could get it going road side. might stop by it right after work and see what I can do.

that would suck! Actually, mine old one would always idle fine. Only at higher speeds was it a problem.
Because Al said it would rain and I always believe him...ALWAYS!
