another progress post... bandwagon...

so regrettably, i don't seem to have the resources that some other recent progress posters have... the mini magnum looks amazing, the sachs buildup makes me incredibly envious, and even that blue/black tomos toptank is really sleek.

living in the city though, and working out of my back porch, leaves my outcome a reflection of my limited abilities...

it's in its first week of operation. an a55 i snagged from craigs a few months ago, the rest is more or less a modified malaguti commuter frame that i've been rambling about for a while. someone before me welded that top tube and moved the tank, cut the seat tube, and put the seat on what was previously the luggage rack. their bars, too. in fact, the only thing i've done is make engine mounts, put in the engine, modify the exhaust, and wire it. oh, and accidentally scrape away tons of shitty rattle-can paint.

but it runs! and it runs well! also, sorry for the blurry pictures - i rode it to my girlfriend's work tonight, and used her camera hastily while it was parked outside.

hope to: change a bunch of stuff and make it look better. vague, i know. what would you do to it?

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

I think it's rad as is.

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

man, thats a really awesome frame shape youve got going, and totally cool over all. it actually looks pretty neat with the mismatched paint, but if you got it powder coated someday it was also look incredible. excellent work overall.

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

toe fur threadkiller /

fuck powdercoat.

bike is awesome as is.

leave it.

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

looks sweet.

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

I like it.

Maybe move the seat forward or get a longer one to connect the lines of the tank to the seat........or just leave it.

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

Noah, it looks great as it is! We do what we can with where and what we have to work with - just keep doing what you're doing man!

PEACE~

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

is the front tire a whitewall? it matches the gas paint

looks awesome man good job

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

dont change anything.

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

Awesome! I think it has character and you shouldn't change anything. The only thing I might do is spray some clearcoat over your chipped paint so it doesn't rust. don't try to make it the same as everyone elses. If a ped looks like brand new, then you worry about chipped paint, scratches, dents. dirt, etc. I would rather have that than my boring looking maxi any day.

Keep up the great work! And by that, I mean that that's my favorite bike on here so far.

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

wow, thanks for the support... you guys rock.

i too love the way it looks, and will probably leave the paint like that for a while - the nicer a bike is around here, the higher the likelihood of its theft, which is stupid.

that seat/tank gap sorta bugs me too, i have eventual plans to get a longer/taller gas tank, and maybe move the seat forward a little bit, both for comfort and to close that gap cosmetically, but i'm quite hesitant to fuck with the way it looks, so that'll probably take me ages.

it used to have a whitewall (well, beigewall?) on the back too, but it kept killing tubes, so i had to take it off... i kinda like just the one in the front, and its uncanny how it matches the tank/headlight

but for real... you guys saying what you have give me a lot of confidence about how it is right now, so i appreciate it. thanks MA!

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

that thing is tit. no rear brakes?

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

:[ no rear brake right now, i have to find a malaguti brake or a similar rear wheel

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

that thing looks awesome

I'd try to find a cafe racer type seat with the little hip in the back..not sure how hard to get

Re: another progress post... bandwagon...

looks dope. i'd ride it.
