...that little metal cylinder with two prongs near the battery? mine's an '82 and its not very clear in the repair manual what it's pointing at. i'm assuming it is since my turn signals were the only things that didnt work when i unplugged it, but just double-checking. i have 3 to test right now!
It is just a turn signal flasher.
yup, its the blinkity blink part. If you bypass it, the signals will just turn on when you flip the switch, no blinking.
Awesome. Does that explain why one of my turn signals turns on but does not blink, one of my signals turns the indicator light on but does not actually turn on itself, and two of my signal lights fell off entirely?
No? Damn, well at least my local chapter has a relevant name.
get yourself an electronic flasher relay... they are about 6 bucks at any auto parts store... I like 'em.
