"figure the conspiracy then tell me whos the greatest nation on earth"
wtf are you trying to say?
yes, the water car is a lie. but if you want to see something really amazing, check out this: the air car break>
totally real. pretty amazing.
The "water powered car" they're talking about isn't really running on water, it's running on electricity in a super-uneconomical way.
The car uses electrolysis to make "Browns Gas" aka HHO. It's like hydrogen-rich water, which can be utilized as a fuel in combustion engines. Unfortunately, the amount of energy used in the electrolysis stage of creating the fuel would be better put to use simply powering an electric motor.
It's actually a common scam, a google search turns up dozens of "kits" to convert your car to a "water hybrid". some of them charge hundreds of dollars for some galvanized nails and a mayonnaise jar.
I've been mulling over the idea of a compressed air moped ever since I heard about that air car... With a little improvisation it wouldn't be unrealistic to just convert a stock two stroke engine to a simple expansion motor unit similar to that of a small steam engine. Hook up a small compressed air tank and add some silicone oil for your "pre-mix".
"air powered moped":http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20080417/moped-runs-on-air/ has been done. apparently its not that efficient either. $6 a canister for about seven miles.
stanley meyers, an american hero.
moto, how is it that you know and post all of my favorite movies and tv shows? are you in my head? i am anxiously awaiting the new season of its always sunny. i fucking love that show.
lol top speed of 18 mph and a range of 7 miles. it's like he combined all the worst aspects of riding a bike and riding a moped.
it's slow, it's only reliable in the sense you can count on it to break down, and you just know he gets his fair share of stupid comments...
I guess gasoline really is just a good, cheap fuel source. Not the cleanest, but I can go for weeks on a half gallon, so who cares?
exactly. how could you possibly improve on a moped? i dont think you can, besides maybe making them reliable or something.
haha if anyone makes them reliable, I'm out. My brother bought his first moped a week ago, and today his throttle cable snapped about ten miles from his house. He calls me up and I just explain that's the moped's way of initiating him into a sacred brotherhood, not just a brotherhood of moped owners, but a magical dysfunctional relationship between moped and rider.
HA! god i love these things. my gransport decided to die on me about five miles from my house today. as i was pushing it down the street i noticed the thermometer on the bank. 103 degrees. horrible. apparently it just wanted to rest in the shade though. i let it sit for about half an hour while i ate some bbq and it fired right up after that. first kick. sometimes i think it just does things like to mess with me.
I've got a Garelli I'm trying to sell, every time I go to show it off to a interested friend, the carb craps out and I have to take it apart and clean it. When I'm home alone, and I just feel like riding, it runs fine.
thats its way of telling you that it loves you. does your garelli have that over heating problem? i've heard that alot of them do, but no one elses ever seems to do it. weird. its jetted right, plug chop looks great, doesnt soft seize or anything, just stops running at idle if it gets too hot. i cant figure it out. i'm running a cold as hell plug too. i guess it just hates the heat.
what do you want for your garrelli?
Topher, I'm looking to sell it locally, we're forming a Marion/Gas City club and we need more riders. I think I have a buyer for it...
If for some unforseeable reason I can't sell it to any of my friends, you get first out-of-town buyer dibs.
ps - it's not the Rally Ltd for sale if that's what you were thinking, it's this one
