Garmin Forerunner 201
dont waste the cash. jus find one of those "your speed is XX" signs.
cheaper. easier. kinda more fun.
I have a Garmin Etrex. Probably one of the cheapest models. Works good though.

after looking at this thread, i started researching, and tom tom makes a special gps nav for motorcycle/scooters called the TomTom Rider. Looks interesting.
Tom Tom Rider is SUPER expensive.
I bought a TomTom XL-S for $240 at walmart, and mounted the mount on the dash of my tomos. The mount is afixed to the dash with the mounting hardware it came with, as well as a bungie to keep it in place. The TomTom will snap in and out of the mount, making it so I can take it with me when I'm not on the bike. The only problem is the glare from the sun on sunny days. Other than that, it's awesome. TomTom says I cruise at 42MPH with Tomos ST with BiTurbo Exhaust.

Garmin Etrex. Cheap! Have had it for probably 5 years. Does all the basic stuff. Used it to check my speedometer on my hobbit. My speedometer and my GPS matched perfectly... both said "slow"! ha
i used to sell em at circuit city... Garmin is the only way to go. they sell motorcycle ones aswell. I have the 350. I put in a ear bud and listen for directions on the ped. mout in the car,.
garmin nuvi 250 got it for 150 bucks.
garmin nuvi 350
and totally inaccurate, by about (5-10mph +/-) at least they are here in Pa. around me they set them up like that to really get you to slow down, some may claim that the speedometer of my car is wrong, however since i move cars around the various storage lots of the auto acution (3 different storage lots, miles apart from eachother) basically i move about 20 or more cars a week, toa, and from the bodyshop, all of their speedometers say the flashing sign is wrong... ALL of them.
the second air plane gps ever made. but it works it shows the same thing as all of the car speedometers.
I need to get one, what do you guys reccomend for being on a bit of a budget? Rather spend more on parts than gps
garmin etrex, under $100.
Mine got ran over on lake shore drive...boo

Explorist 210. I upgraded from a 100 last year. The explorist is the only way to go. cheap, reliable, and bulletproog. I've dropped mine 150 feet off a cliff and it hit the rocks on the botton. all it got was a tiny scratch. The Explorist 100 is under $100, and I've beat the crud out of it since I bought the 210.
Waterproof explorist ftw
Garmin eTrex, the cheap yellow one, bought it new for $100. It's as accurate as anything else, just has less features, and eats batteries like crazy. Peace, Jerry.
I'm looking into buying one of these guys, seen some pretty good info so far. Basically I need something that cannot be broken but still records a top speed so I can put it in my pocket and do test runs. it doesn't need to be pretty, though turn by turn is a necessity. any suggestions?
garmin 350. little bulky for moped, but it has very good bat. life, and has that speach thing where it tells u street names. and a mp3 player off of sd cards.
