Okay, so Leon has been removed from the beat-down list. Thanks for sharing those! Despite the fact that I am even more insanely jealous now, it was still nice to see those.
Now, what about the rest of you slackers?! Chuck, I think you're excused since you put in more than enough work planning everything, but that still leaves, what, like, 50 people?
Also, I don't think you can confuse me about where I've been.
This weekend, we drove 2 or 3 hours to get to the La Paz waterfall gardens. There was plenty to see along the way.
When we got there, there was all kinds of fun wildlife to look at, and (obviously) waterfalls.
Then we drove to Arenal Volcano. That night, we went to Tabacon hot springs, which is like a giant natural hot tub. I would have taken pictures of that, but rain + steam + giant natural hot tubs = bad for camera.
Some of us stayed overnight in a hostel in the city, La Fortuna. The next morning, I saw a flyer for motorcycle/scooter rental, and as much as that would not be anywhere near as cool as a moped, I figured it'd be better than nothing. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the place, I couldn't find any useful info about it, and nobody else wanted to go. I went ride-less, and it made me sad. Next time, screw everyone else. I'm determined to go riding, even if I have to settle for a lame fugly scooter.
After a 5-hour bus ride, we arrived back in the city. Then the whole group of us went to a gay bar that played deafeningly loud techno music. Then I dragged myself out of bed for a walking tour of the city at 9 am this morning. Funny, there are cows on parade in San Jose now too.
I can't say that I wish I hadn't been doing all that, because it was pretty awesome, but I definitely missed you guys and wished I could be there with you too. It's a shame I couldn't magically transport the whole rally down here. THEN it would have been perfect.
