ohhh where is it? on the plate in the front part where the forks go in to?

not sure where yours would be but it seems most of them are on plates on the front forks. (like you said I think)

I cop does not need to know your vin number if they ever ask you again ask them why they need to know it. the only thing they are allowed to know with out a warrent or probable cuase is license, reg, and proff of insurance, all the questions that go along with to why he pulled you over

the reason he asked you for the vin is he probably thought it was stolen

yea thats good old fashioned profiling cops every where do it. i got pulled over in my car last week and i had a full car it was me and 3 of my friends and the cop jsut cap running questions and tried to say that my car failed inspection when it has never been through the bloody inspection yet and i have a 2 month waver card. And wat it boils down to is he jsut wanted a reason to pull over a car with 4 teenagers in it.

if a cop wasn't going to be a dick and give you a ticket and impound your ped" I'd tell him what he wants to know. yeah they don't have the right to ask and all that stuff. but some times its better just to shut up and be respectful so you don't have pay the state any money. don't get me wrong I hate most cops. but its just how it is. so good job! haha I haven't got pulled over on a moped yet.. I'll probably shit when it happens.

last night I'm riding across a bridge into town at like one AM and my headlight starts to short out. The moon was out and there were plenty of streetlamps so I wasn't freaked out, started to slow down to pull into the parking lot of the first place past the bridge and a cop comes around the building on foot, sees me, and immediately starts flashing a flashlight in my face.

I think to myself "crap. well, he's on foot, I pretend I don't see him, then cut down a sidestreet and duck behind a house until the coast is clear."

As I'm thinking this, my shit runs out of gas. No lie. It could not have worked out more poetically. I coast to a sputtering stop right in front of him.

I explain to him that it's kinda finicky and i don't usually ride at night, he asks where i'm coming from, I tell him I just saw The Dark Knight, he asks how it was, I say awesome. He explains that usually the only scooters out this late at night are drunks, I explain that this isn't a scooter, and spend the next five minutes extolling the virtues of mopeds. He tells me to be careful out there and lets me ride home with a flickering headlight.

Thats not cool guy, what if by some chance a cop got shot in the face in your part of the country and a fellow cop happened to be on this forum , I know a long shot but why take the chance

dude there are a lot of good police officers out there who are faily level headed. yeah there are some psychos egomaniacs out there who ruin their image but seriously cop hating is just retarded. most are just trying to make a living like everyone else. and they didn't have to pick a profession where they could get shot in the line of duty to do it.
