Moped on city streets?

I just found this nicely done web page and am very surprised to find others that like mopeds. I have a 1984 Honda Express without pedals.<p>Do you all live in large downtown areas where traffic doesn't exceed 30mph or do you just go anywhere while everyone on 4 wheels flies past you? <br>

Re: Moped on city streets?

"I actually brave it out on go on the streets and major avenues that has constant traffic flowing past at 50mph. Staying far off to the right, just like a bicycle, and keeping alert are two main factors in making it. If you're careful, you can go just about anywhere. I live in suburban Los Angeles, so freeways are (of course) out of the question, but local city streets are usually safe.<p><p>_wal<p>"

in washington state it is legal for a moped to ride in bike lanes (which are on the street) and shoulders, but not bike paths or trails (which are separated from the street). but as we all know, moped laws do not necessarily transfer from state to state.

hey byron

I'm going to be living in corvallis this fall because I'm going to go to school at OSU. I ride a vespa grande. Maybe I'll see you ridin around. Corvallis seems like it would be a great place for moped riding.

Re: honda spree

I have the same problem! My 1985 Honda Spree leaks around where there are about three layers of metal. No wonder it was goin so slow! Im gonna try to get it welded or buy another one. When I pull the throttle all the way down and hold it there, the thing make a funky noise and quits on me! I found out that if you have the slightest leak in your carburator, the Spree doesnt run to its full potential. Then i bought some carb. gaskets and it doesnt do that as bad. I just need to fix the tank.
