Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

i had this one http://www.gokartsusa.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=779

and it lasted 6000 miles of me beating the shit out of it

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

that's not a moped. it's a scooter. get whatever you want, man. but call it the right name. mopeds have pedals

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

sorry, i meant to also say, they are usually more bicycle like in appearance, while scooters look like they have a footrest type platform for your feet. but you can get a used moped for less than 1200 buckaroos.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

oh yeah and i was lucky if i could get mine to cruise at 45

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

After the delivery fee and all that shit your looking at a lot more than 1200-1300 hundred bucks right?

I'm glad to finally see a scooter sight being like this is not a moped, its a fucking scooter. It says it right at the bottom of the page.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

In case you didn't notice, that is one chinese scooter site that actually has a proper definition of a moped and a scooter. Peace, Jerry.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

It has free shipping, which means the shipping charges are included in the price of the scooter, and they are still making a profit. Peace, Jerry.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

Ouch. Noped?

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

I know exactly what that is. A store down the street from me sells every model of scooter Roketa makes, including that one. You can buy it already set up for $1500+, or $1100 in the box. I like the Sicily 150 model better, it looks more like a Vespa. If I were going to buy one, I'd get it in the box, so I could make sure it got assembled properly, plus saving some money. They should reach 50 mph, and if you really take good care of it, it should last well over 10,000 miles. BUT, a 150cc scooter does not get nearly 100 mpg, more like 65. My former Kawasaki Eliminator 125 (recently sold) got about 75 mpg, but it had a manual transmission and chain drive, which is more efficient than a belt/variator drive. So it's not really a gas saver. My Honda Met 50cc scooter goes 40 mph, and gets just a hair over 100 mpg. I have never been able to get more than 85 mpg out of a moped, probably because they are 2 stroke, but they are fun, and they last forever. I never got 100 mpg out of my '05 Yamaha Zuma 2 stroke scooter either, but it was faster off the line than the Met. I have 16,000+ on an '03 Tomos, and it runs like new. But I guess I have to quit bragging about that, seems like I saw a post from somebody that had almost twice that many miles on one. FWIW, Roketa parts are available, for now. Peace, Jerry.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

Actually, scooter.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

take of the things restricting it and ask yourself how long does the crank have to survive? if your answer is long enuf to reach my top speed. then yes u should easily be able to hit 59 in fact u should be able to go a lot faster on 150cc

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

I dont like how some scooters dont know that they have brakes like the Yamaha Jog, without both brakes locked it wants to keep goin. And my big ass couldn't stop it, I figured I could let it idle but nnnnoooo.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

Meh, I'd buy a Honda CB350 at that point, You already have to have motorcycle insurance and license, might as well get a motorcycle.

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

The guy above me is 100% right, for that kind of money get yourself a ninja 250 or a honda rebel 250. They will both have more pull, higher top speed, better stopping power, better turning and best of all you get a genuine Kawasaki or Honda engine. Those China brand scooters arent worth more then 400$, they are like a disposable camera...

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

Trying to find a good 250 motorcycle right now is damned impossible around here. All the dealers are sold out and won't be getting there next allotments until fall. If you can find one it's fetching top dollar with most dealers selling at MSRP plus tax, title, shipping & dealer prep.

A Ninja 250 will run in CT between $4000 and $4500. out the door.

I'm bummed I didn't get it in Jan when I had the chance. Glad I still love and am having a blast with my Madass though.

Enjoy,

Moe

Re: 150 moped has any one ridden one of these junk

my vespa ciao gets between 100 and 120 mpg, my puchs run around 90-100, even my kitted sachs is capable of 70 mpg when i'm cruising.
