yes grande's have points/condenser ... if i recall you need a special tool (flywheel puller) to access them under the flywheel
You can use a rubber mallet to loosen the flywheel on the shaft, then pull it off with your hands.
do i need to pull the motor out? so i just smack the flywheel a few times with a rubber mallet?
Yes, you have to pull the motor. Smack the flywheel with the mallet on its edge, turn, smack, turn, smack, etc, til it loosens up a little, then you can pull it off with a little effort.
o ok. dam that kinda sucks you have to pull the motor to change the points. o well. ill try to see if i get a spark then ill pull the motor and check everything. anyone know what the points should be adjusted to?
You dont have to pull it to adjust them, just change them. You can adjust them by removing the variator and pulling out the rubber kidney shaped stopper and putting it at about 10 oclock on the flywheel, you can see the points open and close. Open them to their widest, put the feeler gauge in there, loosen the set screw up top, apply slight upwards pressure on the gauge and screw down the set screw.
