Look at your stock cylinder. Do you have 3 transfers or just 2 in the barrel? If you have 2, you won't go very fast even with porting. The 3rd transfer adds about 10mph (with the other stock porting of course), or so I've heard. Port it out, then get a scooter pipe and mod it to fit. A dellorto is a tight fit, but you might be able to turn it to the side if you add another piece of something for an intake (maybe a puch intake if you can make the bolt patterns fit?). Rip all of the unnecesary parts off to lower weight.
On a side note, for porting does anyone know what the stroke and conrod length are?

Mine will break 30 and it's stock. Seriously though you don't want to go much faster than that. The qualities of the bike are that it runs extremely smooth, quiet, and it's very reliable. The downside is that it's probably the most unstable bike I've ever ridden. It rides like heaven up to about 27, then it gets real jittery beyond that. The problem stems from the center of gravity being almost on top of the rear axle so that every little bump causes your front wheel to lose contact with the road at higher speeds. If you could somehow lengthen the frame to move the axle behind the seat the bike would be great for modding but the thought of going 50 on one just makes me a little queasy. The bike is an awesome daily rider and the bike you always turn to when nothing else will start because it always will.
seeing how you posted that bike in the preformance section in my thread, you already have the center of gravity problem, pipe, and carb figured out. How large is your intake though? You could probably make a sick port map in that cylinder.
yah.... im not having any problems making mine fast.... low 40s have already been done, Im porting my cylinder right now and expect mid to high 40s by the end of the day.... this post was more just to see what other people have done.
neevr seen one built before. Rustybikes ran FZ50 carb and other FZ parts on his, think it went 38 or something.

nates fa50 is the mostest funnest moped everest.
get a Suzuki dirt bike exhaust, from one under 100cc it should bolt right up.
nate you know I have some 70cc kits on their way for the fa50's right?
